Sharing a million Christmas Boxes of hope and love this season
This Christmas, Love Your Neighbour is launching a new initiative called ‘Love Christmas’ to help us all spread the power of practical love, hope and kindness to people struggling this winter, by mobilising an army of local volunteers to create and deliver one million Christmas ‘boxes of hope’ or ‘bags of blessings’ to the most vulnerable and isolated this Christmas.
Many Vineyard churches already have fantastic initiatives in place and Love Christmas seeks to spotlight them by creating a united message from churches to the nation. Although our individual ‘boxes’ may differ in size, content and delivery, by joining forces through Love Christmas we can share a powerful message of unity and love in action.
There are three simple steps to take part:
1. Create a plan to give Christmas ‘boxes’ or ‘bags’ to vulnerable people – whether that’s food, toys or other gifts.
2. Sign up on the Love Your Neighbour website to link your plan to the Love Christmas initiative and join churches from all networks and denominations in communicating a national message around hope this Christmas. There will be helpful downloads that you can use alongside Love Christmas.
3. Update the Love Your Neighbour website with your progress, to help them map the mosaic of church activity, as together we aim to give out one million boxes of hope or bags of blessings to our communities.
