Role summary: Gloucester Vineyard Church is a growing, missional church based in the centre of Gloucester. Our vision is to be a multisite church with small expressions of Gloucester Vineyard Church spread across the county. These expressions will be worshipping communities, missional communities, compassion ministries, homegroups and more. With this broad vision in mind GVC is committed to leadership training and development, with a particular emphasis on investing in the next generation of pioneering leaders. This internship is an outworking of that emphasis. We are seeking an intern to come and get stuck in with church life, go through the Vineyard Leaders College, and learn the ropes of how to lead in a Vineyard community context. During the internship the intern will spend most of their time following their interests and gaining experience in our existing ministries and activities. This includes participation in our Sunday gathering, Monday outreach activities (Vibes, Growbaby and/or Chai and Chat) and homegroups. There will be flexibility as well to pivot, try some ideas out and follow their passions. At the end of the internship we will explore options for ongoing leadership opportunities either inside or outside of GVC. Please note you must be 21 to attend Leadership College, unless you are taking the Youth Work leadership elective.
Responsible to: Senior Pastoral team
Term: The internship will run in parallel with the Vineyard Leadership College course
Expectations:
1. The intern will undertake a full day of college every Thursday during the college term
2. As part of the College course there is an expectation that the students will volunteer 1-2
evenings per week in the church context. We will discuss with you how you can best
meet that expectation at GVC
3. We would expect the intern to be present at at least 3⁄4 Sunday gatherings whether they
are allocated to a team that week or not
4. We would strongly encourage the intern to observe a weekly sabbath where they rest
from all work and engage in people and activities which bring them life and rest.
Remuneration: In return GVC will pay the interns way through the Vineyard Leaders College (equivalent to £1797) Alongside this the intern will receive 1:1 mentorship and supervision from the leadership team.
Probation Period: 2 Months
Based at: Working home or from Northgate Hall
Start date: September 2025

We love the way that Jesus calls us to be part of His story, to receive His life, and to be part of helping others to do the same.

An internship is a great way to invest a year in order to grow your faith, discern your calling, and receive lots of input.
As a church, we offer a ministry-specific, year-long internship program. Within this year, you will have one main focus, which is summarised below.
Selah is a word that is used throughout the Psalms, and many theologians agree that it is a moment to pause and reflect, to take a deep breath, to be still and know that He is God. Our heart for this year is to dedicate ourselves to God, creating plenty of opportunities to stop and listen to all that He has for us. Alongside this, we will spend each Friday gathering as a community to worship in creative ways, aiming to grow as apprentices of Jesus whilst serving and being rooted in the local Vineyard Church here in Falmouth, Cornwall.

From September, Trent’s Discipleship Year (DY) becomes ZŌÉ, which means life.
Jesus came to give us life and life to the full. ZŌÉ is a year built in community, designed to help you grow as you seek God, His life and His calling.
ZŌÉ will run from September to July for those in their 20s to 30s. It’s a part-time programme, typically three days a week, with a mixture of teaching and serving within the local church.

Jesus came to give us life, and life in all its fullness.
The Trent Gap Year is a programme for school leavers (18/19 year olds) and our hope is that over the course of the year – you will learn what it looks like to pursue Jesus fully. The programme consists of a year of exploring exactly what it looks like to follow Jesus, allowing him to transform our lives. Through serving, teaching and investment – we want to equip you to be all that you can be, discover more of who God is and His plan for your life, and have a lot of fun along the way!
A big part of the year will also be spent investing in the youth ministry here at Trent Vineyard, being part of the team and building relationships with the young people through discipleship and Trent Youth activities.

John Wimber, founder of the Vineyard movement, once said: ‘I want to grow up before I grow old. Initial conversion doesn’t ensure Christian maturity. We must be willing to patiently submit to and cooperate aggressively with the process of discipleship, understanding that there are no shortcuts to maturity.’
The Discipleship Year at York Vineyard is an opportunity to commit yourself wholeheartedly to this process of discipleship. Throughout the year we will mentor you; provide you with practical tools and advice; encourage and foster independent study and reflection; and give you the opportunity to serve the church in a variety of ways. The aim is that you will grow closer to God, grow in knowledge of God, grow in gifting, grow in servant heartedness, grow in character and grow in experience.

Encounter School of Mission (ESOM) is part of Causeway Coast Vineyard church based on the north coast of Northern Ireland.
Our journey as a church began in May 1999 with a group of six people who tenaciously guarded the dream that it is possible to live differently in order to make a difference. To this day, we continue to be a community who carry hope and are passionately pursuing God’s heart for His city through our ordinary everyday lives.
We are a church where lives are changing. A place where people are saying ‘yes’ to God and experiencing life in a fresh way. We are a people who bring life to every area in our community. A place where we see transformation happen as we pursue the dreams that God has placed in our hearts.
ESOM was birthed out of our desire to do just that. ESOM’s mission is to raise up followers of Jesus and equip them in understanding their identity, their kingdom authority, and their calling. As children of God, we refuse to reduce faith to what is manageable, live beyond what is comfortable and reach for the impossible. As leaders and kingdom carriers, we bring life to every corner of culture, one encounter at a time.
The DY is an amazing opportunity to create a discipleship foundation that will set you up for the rest of your life with Jesus. This is more than just a ‘year out’, it is 10 months to intentionally learn, serve & grow. It is always incredible to see what God can do when we make ourselves available. DY is a year where we place ourselves before God and allow Him to be the one that shapes us, and helps us to become more like Jesus in every area of our lives.
The year begins in September and ends in July, running every week during term time. We would expect you to be available 3 days a week, including Sundays.
