We know a God who doesn’t just look after what’s necessary, but loves to treat us! We loved this story from Causeway Coast Vineyard, about one of their clients from Vineyard Compassion.
“One lady came into the Hope Centre to fill out a form to be able to get a new fridge freezer as hers had broken. She shared with our team that her purse had been stolen from her toddler’s buggy in the park that week. The lady has a very low income, cares for her mother who has MS for a number of hours a week, and gets topped up by universal credit. The benefits she had withdrawn from the bank that day to take home and put away were her income until the end of the month, and the money included their fortnightly treat money for a takeaway for her and her son. She was especially devastated that she wasn’t able to treat her son that week.
As she told us the story, it just so happened that Dominoes had blessed the Hope Centre with vouchers for free pizzas a while back, and one of the team had just so happened to make the decision to bring them down to Open Door for that exact session! We gave her the voucher and she was overwhelmed and wept with joy. We were also able to bless her with electric vouchers to keep her going until she got more money, and we gave her a bundle of clothes for her wee boy. She was delighted!
To top it off, when we shared this story at the staff meeting someone just so happened to have a spare fridge freezer which has now been delivered to her!”
