The theme of this conference was ‘The King and His Kingdom’ and speakers included Simon Ponsonby, John & Eleanor Mumford, David Stroud, Rick Williams, Juliet Barber and Mary Pytches.
John Mumford – Acts 1: an introduction to The King and His Kingdom
In this talk John Mumford firstly welcomed the assembled leaders to the conference, before talking on Acts 1 under the central theme of ‘The King and His Kingdom.’
Mary Pytches – The Kingdom and the Power
Mary Pytches is married to Bishop David Pytches. Together with their four girls they spent seventeen years in South America as missionaries. When they returned to England they led the church of St Andrew’s, Chorleywood also pioneering the New Wine and Soul Survivor conferences.
Mary’s major interest has been to develop a pastoral prayer ministry in the local church, whilst also writing almost as many books as she has grandchildren, on subjects relating to personal growth. In their retirement Mary and David are kept busy with their growing family, while making time for writing and speaking around the world.
In this talk she focuses on The Kingdom and the Power, under the banner of “The King and His Kingdom.”
Rick Williams – The Kingdom of God and World Mission
Rick grew up in Australia and studied Theology and was ordained in this country. Following 8 years of pastoral experience on staff of other churches (including John Wimber’s church in California), Rick and (his wife) Lulu headed up the planting of Riverside Vineyard Church.
They have two children, Chloe and Michael. They take a leading role in shaping the church’s basic foundations, direction and vision as well as overseeing several other areas of church life.
Together they serve on the Vineyard Churches leadership group and provide oversight to a number of Vineyard Churches.
In this talk Rick explores the theme of The Kingdom of God and World Mission.
John Mumford – 2020 Vision
In this talk, John Mumford spent some time looking at how God is calling us over the next ten years as a movement.
Juliet Barber – The Kingdom and Social Justice
In this talk Juliet explores the theme of The Kingdom of God and Social Justice.
Juliet and her husband Steve lead Leicester City Vineyard, together they coordinate the Vineyard Church Planting Team in the UK & Ireland and Juliet also heads up Vineyard Bible Training.
She became a Christian 18 years ago in the church Steve planted in Southend and they moved to plant again 4 years ago.
Simon Ponsonby – The King and his Kingdom
In this talk Simon explores the subject of the parable of the hidden treasure.
A 4th generation preacher, Simon came to a personal faith in his late teens. He became an evangelist, street preacher and church planter in his early 20s, before preparing for Anglican ordination at Trinity College Bristol.
In 2005 he became Pastor of Theology at St Aldates church, which involved teaching theology, writing and entering a wider itinerant teaching ministry. In all his ministry, he is passionate about combining Word with Spirit. Simon is married to Tiffany, a school teacher, artist and wonderful mother of their two sons Joel and Nathanael. He enjoys hot curry, photography, military history and is obsessed about collecting vintage fountain pens.

David Stroud – The Kingdom and Church Planting
In this talk David spoke with insight as a Church Planter and from his role in New Frontiers International (a Church Planting movement) on the topic of ‘Church Planting and the Kingdom of God.’
David is the founding pastor of ChristChurch London and leads the Newfrontiers UK team. Previously he started churches in Bedford and Birmingham and has trained church planters in the UK and internationally. He is passionate about building churches that engage effectively with the surrounding culture, both in terms of winning the lost, and shaping communities.
David recently launched The Everything Conference, an event aimed at equipping people to be salt and light in whatever area of society God has placed them. He is married to Philippa and they have three teenage children.
Eleanor Mumford – The Sound of Marching

In this final session from the National Leaders’ Conference, Eleanor Mumford speaks on 2 Samuel 5 and the call upon Vineyard Churches at this point in our history, as we feel God speaks to us about the next ten years.
