The cost of living crisis has left many worried about heating their homes this winter and there is a concern that vulnerable people won’t be able to keep warm. Natalie from Kirkcaldy Vineyard Church in Scotland tells us how their church has responded to this need for warmth and support in their community:
“As a church, we were recently offered a property within the local Shopping Centre, with a free lease for a year and the utility bills paid for. We accepted this space with a view to offering support to our local community, especially during the economic crisis and looming winter.
We were able to open the doors to this space in a matter of weeks and have since been able to provide this as a warm place for the local community to visit, rest and talk.
Within this Warm Space we have been able to offer healing prayer for those with physical ailments and strains on their life. There are also a range of activities, free refreshments and supportive services for the community through qualified counselling support, creative activities and Bible studies.
We are praying that this project will continue to flourish into the following year and continue to thrive within this central premises. The Lord has provided for us in such a spectacular way!”
