Following the worst disaster in France since the second world war, in which at least 129 people died and 352 have been injured, John Wright (National Director of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland) spoke on how we, as Christians, can respond to this attack.

We join the people of France in mourning the awful loss of life, sharing in the grief of those who have lost loved ones, and joining with everyone who denounces this atrocious expression of evil.

We stand also with the people of France, of whatever faith and none, as they try to come to terms with this tragedy.  There are no words to describe the anguish being felt by those who are suffering; our heart and prayers go out to them.

In this video John Wright, who is also the Senior Pastor of Trent Vineyard, outlined what we can do and included these prayer points:

::  Pray for the families who have lost loved ones. Pray for those who are injured. Pray for those who are traumatised.

::  Pray that there will be comforters for the hundreds of families who are affected.

::  Pray for the emergency workers, who have witnessed the utter devastation and worked tirelessly to help those who have been injured.

::  Pray for those in positions of responsibility who are charged with making the very complex decisions regarding security, and how to tackle IS as its members seek to kill and destroy.

::  Pray that any perpetrators involved in the attacks who are still alive, are captured and brought to justice.

::  And, though it goes against every natural tendency within us, we are to pray for our enemies.
